AMiRE 2001, held at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute of the University of Paderborn, Germany in October 2001, showed that there is a vigorous and growing research community working on and with autonomous minirobots for a variety of purposes.
AMiRE 2003 held at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia, provided a further opportunity for this emerging research community to evaluate their experience and explore the future contributions to our knowledge and advancement of robot technology.
